Since 1 January 2025, health insurance is a requirement for issuing or renewing a UAE residency visa.
From 1 January 2025, health insurance is a requirement for issuance or renewal of a UAE residency visa. Workers with existing residencies issued before that date will need to arrange coverage at their next renewal. This applies alongside any employer-provided health insurance obligations already in place under Dubai Health Authority or equivalent Emirate-level rules.
